Tattoo artist gets allow from Lewiston council

Aldrich said that once he gets the document duplicate of his new condition certificate he can start establishing up his place and organizing a conference and examination with city physicians. He wishes to start doing body art designs at a store by the first of the year.

"But I couldn't go any further until the city accepted my regional certificate," he said. "That was the only thing having me up."

City laws require a two-step qualifications process for body art artists: First, they must get the appropriate qualifications from the condition to show that they are certified. Then, they need a city allow that allows them exercise within city boundaries.

The city allow includes a check of the candidate's legal background, and Aldrich has a long one. Aldrich was found guilty of crime theft in 2003, crime robbery in Apr 2000 and crime theft in Oct 2000 — moreover to several transgressions for theft, holding a disguised tool and other legal offenses.

Aldrich said he has had problems finding perform since being launched from jail. He obtained welding and woodworking accreditations while he was imprisoned, but couldn't find perform because he's a felon.

He did body art designs at Old Orchard Beach's Sea Red this season, but that store shut for winter season season. He has been doing odd tasks around city since then.
